You can probably get a good idea of who I am by reading my
entries from the 60's but to save you the trouble, I’ll hit the highlights here.
I was born in 1949 on the island of Tutuila in Pago Pago,
American
Samoa. My dad was the legal officer for the US naval base and he even did
some time as the acting Attorney General.
Being a “navy brat”, along with my brother and sister, I’ve lived in various
parts of the country. Children in the military know the drill. Two or three
years in one place, then you move on. I have no regrets what so ever about that
life style. Besides Samoa, we lived in Chevy Chase Maryland, China Lake
California, Newport Rhode Island, Norman Oklahoma and San Diego California.
I graduated from San Francisco State in 1974 with a degree in Social Science. I
was some what wrapped up in the “find yourself” philosophies of the times so on
graduation, I enrolled in horticulture classes and pursued a line of work that
would allow me to work outside. I've worked for several municipal park
departments and, since 1980, have worked for the San Diego State University
Physical Plant. My current position is shop supervisor for the campus irrigation
shop.
I married in 1991 and Catherine and I own a small
20 acre ranch, 40 miles east of San Diego.
